REFAD Place
When does an architectural render truly feel real?
CYLIND Studio recently completed exterior, print-ready 3D visualizations for REFAD Place, a mixed-use development in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, commissioned by Al Qahtani Holding.
One of the key requirements was to present the architecture within an authentic Saudi Arabian context, ensuring the project would be immediately readable as Dammam rather than a generic global location. This meant working carefully with regional light, atmosphere, urban cues, and everyday details that ground the project in its real environment.
An important part of the brief was the representation of people. The visuals needed to reflect a balanced mix of local users in traditional Saudi attire and international visitors in contemporary business dress, capturing the project’s real-life audience while maintaining cultural accuracy and visual clarity. Achieving this balance without overpowering the architecture required precise control of scale, composition, and narrative.
